Best Prop Firms for Beginners
Beginner-friendly futures prop firms with fair drawdown rules, no news restrictions, and forgiving evaluation programs.

Tradeify
Tradeify is the no-subscription firm: every plan is a one-time purchase with zero recurring billing, which is the cleanest contrast to monthly-subscription models like Topstep. Three products — Growth, Select and Lightning — all offered in 25K/50K/100K/150K, all running EOD trailing drawdown and all paying a 90/10 split on sim funded accounts. Growth is the cheap, fast evaluation with no consistency rule (pass in a single day) but a soft Daily Loss Limit. Select has no DLL in evaluation, a 40% consistency rule (3 trading day minimum) and a permanent fork after passing between Flex payouts (every 5 winning days, bigger caps, no DLL) or Daily payouts (daily eligibility, smaller caps, DLL + profit buffer) — with the drawdown locking permanently once your EOD balance clears the starting balance by $100. Lightning is instant funding with a progressive consistency rule (20% / 25% / 30%) and the industry's sneakiest gotcha: the Profit Goal is what you must earn to unlock a payout, not what you can withdraw. Zero activation fees anywhere, max 5 sim funded accounts, all sales final.

MyFundedFutures
MyFundedFutures (MFFU) runs ONE standardized evaluation — the plan you buy decides the funded experience and the payout engine. Four plans: Rapid (90/10, intraday trailing, daily payouts), Flex (budget 25K/50K, 80/20, EOD, 5 winning days), Builder (50K only, 1-day pass eval, two MLL options, 80/20) and Pro (the live-pipeline track, 50K/100K/150K, 80/20, 14-calendar-day first payout). Shared eval rules on Flex/Rapid/Pro: targets $1,500 / $3,000 / $6,000 / $9,000, EOD max loss $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500, no daily loss limit, 50% consistency (EVAL ONLY), minimum 2 trading days and Tier 1 news allowed. Builder's eval is different: no consistency, 1-day pass, a $1,000 soft-pause DLL and a choice of $2,000 or $1,500 MLL at checkout. Zero activation fees anywhere. Sim funded accounts START AT $0 on every plan — your balance can go negative until the max loss limit trails up. Account limits: max 10 evaluations; max 5 sim funded (25K/50K only) or 3 if you hold any 100K/150K; 50K Flex capped at 3 sim funded since Mar 24 (earlier buyers grandfathered at 5); Builder is 1 sim funded per user.
Topstep
Topstep is the pioneer of the futures prop trading industry and the only one with a true three-stage path: Trading Combine (evaluation) → Express Funded Account (XFA) → Live Funded Account (real capital). The Combine has one rule (don't hit the Maximum Loss Limit) and two objectives: reach and maintain the profit target and keep your best single day under 50% of the target — minimum two trading days, you cannot pass in one. Pricing is locked at purchase to one of two paths: Standard ($49/$99/$199 per month plus a one-time $149 activation fee per funded account earned) or No Activation Fee ($95/$149/$229 per month, $0 to activate). Paths cannot be changed after purchase and resets cost the same as a month on your path. Profit split is 90/10 across XFA and Live. After every XFA payout your Maximum Loss Limit resets to $0 permanently and your winning-day count restarts.
Alpha Futures
Alpha Futures runs EOD trailing drawdown on every single account type — the Maximum Loss Limit is calculated from your end-of-day balance high, never intraday equity, and it stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance. You can be up big intraday, give it all back, and your drawdown doesn't move. All four plans pay a flat 90% profit split with no tiered ladder. On evaluation-based accounts you can withdraw up to 50% of profits, up to 4 times per month, after 5 winning days of $200+, with no assigned payout dates and no rule that slides your MLL to $0 at first withdrawal. Choose Standard (balanced), Advanced (rule-light pro tier with a $15,000 withdrawal cap), Zero (budget entry, $0 activation forever) or Direct (one-time fee, instantly Qualified, no evaluation).
